The strongest song from Mars's debut, Grenade was ever so fatalistic. A tune about unrequited love set to a repetitive piano beat that paved way for a chorus that dropped like a bomb. Giving Mars his third UK number one, the song was one of feelings in the extreme, giving us one of the best uses of a inanimate object in a pop song since Rihanna invited us all to stand under her Umbrella.
