5. Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory

When The Edge of Glory first dropped it's effect failed to impress me. Whilst the world of music blogs and twitter were saying it was a return to form for Gaga (though in my opinion she'd never lost form - as you'll see a bit further up) i was yet to be drawn in. I'm not sure when it clicked with me, maybe it was the story behind the song, maybe it was the amount of airplay it received, or maybe i just had enough time to appreciate what she was trying to do, but all of a sudden The Edge of Glory became one of my favourite tracks of 2011. The video, however, is shocking!
