12. Beyonce - Love on Top

From the moment i heard it it was the stand out track on the '4' album, Love on Top is the perfect celebration of an 80s era Luther Vandross. Featuring a staggering amount of key changes, the song's smooth grooves were juxtaposed by a more gravely vocal from Beyonce, We're talking more Aretha than Rod, this is still Beyonce. Just like 1 + 1 mentioned below, it was another foray into unfashionable territory for B during 2011, but such a welcome one.
